Clarification Text

If the question of whether the use of ESD socks is necessary or unnecessary, the answer is simply; yes it will.

ESD shoes are made of a conductive material, but the sock must have perspiration to provide a seamless line to the floor. If it is considered that socks with different fabric types and properties can be worn, there will be deviations from the standard in terms of ESD measures.

Also in winter, the presence of drier air will cause the connection of the human body to the ground over the shoes and from there to the ground for safe discharge.

Additional solutions are needed to provide more favorable conditions for the ESD protection standard. For this reason, ESD socks appear as a product recommended for use in EPA areas where antistatic measures are taken as an additional ESD solution.

What makes ESD socks special?

The special conductive threads that provide an electrical transmission line independent of the ambient conditions and the user's skin resistance are the reason why these socks are preferred in environments sensitive to static electricity and where antistatic precautions are taken.
